How to Contact Me

There are various ways to contact me, listed here:

Instant Messenger

Instant messengers are not a part of Blackboard, but are availiable on the Internet for free. I am always available from any of these instant messengers using either my computer or my Samsung Vibrant Galaxy S Android smartphone with unlimited messaging from T-Mobile.

AOL Instant Messenger

- User ID: rpelleticity
Apple iPhone 4s
Yahoo! Messenger
- Get Yahoo! Messenger
- User ID: rpelleticity
Microsoft Windows Live Messenger
- Get Microsoft Windows Live Messenger
- User ID: rpelleti@rpinfo.com

Do not hesitate to communicate with me through one of these instant messengers, especially if it is something that requires immediate attention.

Because this is instant, you will get an instant response from me using this means of communication... most of the time. However, there are times when I am not instantly available: while driving, while in a meeting, while watching a movie, etc. in which case I will get to your message as soon as I am able to.

The Learning Resource Center at City College does not want students to use instant messengers UNLESS it is for communicating with their instructor. If you need access to AOL Instant Messenger, but cannot install the software on your computer, use this link: aimexpress.aol.com. Yahoo! Messenger users can now use this link: webmessenger.yahoo.com.

I may not be available after 4:00 pm on weekdays or on weekends, but you can leave me a message with an instant messenger.

Text Pager

For situations where you need to let me know of a problem on Blackboard right away, but you do not want to use an instant messenger, you can send a text message to my phone using my Text Pager. Note that my Text Pager, like the old fashioned pager devices, is one way communications.

Discussion Board

The Blackboard Discussion Board is a good way to communicate with me and the rest of the class. When you have a question that you think others in class can benefit from, please use the Blackboard Discussion Board. It may take from one to four days to get a response from me.

While reading messages on the discussion board, if you see a question that you know the answer to, you may answer it—you don’t have to wait for me to answer it.

Blackboard Email

If you have a question that you would rather keep private, I would recommend that you use Blackboard Email. It may take from one to four days to get a response from me.

Internet Email

If you must contact me with Internet email, use rpelleti@sdccd.edu. This is my official City College email address. I get so many email messages through this address that I may miss your email. I prefer you to use the Blackboard Email whenever possible.

On Campus - Spring 2012

My office is at City College, room A-17g. My hours are Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 12 noon. I recommend you make an appointment. I have no classes on campus this semester.
